At the edge of a quiet winter village stood a cheerful snowman named Patches.
His coat was old and lovingly mended, his scarf was bright red, and a tiny lantern hung from his arm.
Every snowy evening, Patches lit his lantern and guided lost travellers safely home. The villagers said its glow came not from a candle, but from every kindness ever shown to him.
One Christmas Eve, as golden lights twinkled around the village, Patches smiled beneath his tall black hat. He knew that even the smallest light could warm the coldest winter night.
